Here is our morning conversation:
Mommy: "Will, what do you want for breakfast?"Will: "I want frosted snowflakes."
Let's play games!
Will has really taken to board games since our Minnesota trip. I came home to make a run to Kohl's & Target to pick up a few. Here is what we play everyday at least twice a day:CANDYLAND --HIS FAVORITE right now. He goes crazy when he gets a picture card, EVEN if that means he has to go backwards... He calls those "special" cards and he tells me that he "loves them".
UNO --the real classic card game and we play it the real way. The only difference is that he lays his cards face up so we can help him. He gets really really excited when he gets a D (draw two), a R (reverse, he calls "erverse") and Wild cards. He calls those "special" cards.
WAR --with your basic 52 card deck. This is the first game we started playing over a month ago. It's great for numbers and figuring out which number is bigger/higher. He already understands that having all the Aces is the best. And Kings second best. :)
UNO MOO --he received this game as a gift for his 3rd birthday from our favorite babysitter, Ms. Gebo. This is a version of Uno but with farm animals and a barn.
HI HO CHERRY-O! --I would say this is his 2nd favorite game. This one is great for counting and finger motor skills since the cherries are so small.
LET'S GO FISHING --he played this one and Hi Ho Cherry-O! in MN while we were home and was immediately attached. Then I went on a hunt for this game, which I didn't even know they still made! This was the game I played as a kid. Sure enough, the first place I hit was Kohl's and it was there. Using my 30% off coupon combined with their 50% off board games, I was able to score this game for a whopping $8! Yes.
Now, I can't wait to get more games! He'll be a gamer just like his Mommy. :) We are looking forward to our visit with my brother and family for Spring Break where we plan to take them ALL DOWN in games. HAHA
