I am "3" Birthday Party on August 25th, 2012

We had a bash on Will's 3rd birthday. It wasn't supposed to be as big as it was but when you have a three-way joint party along with your two best friends, Micayla and Kruz, that's what ya get! And boy did we have fun. I can't wait to tell you about it.

First, I ordered a HUGE slide from a rental company for the party. It was the only real thing that I wanted since Will is way into slides. He'd rather slide, than bounce house. The company I used was Lake Norman Party Rentals. The guy, Morris who owns it is super nice and I love his service. He asked if they could set up the slide on Thursday and pick it up Monday. Our party was slated for Saturday August 25th since this was the day that worked for all three families together. So I paid the one price for the slide and got it for four whole days. Can you say HAPPY??!! Yup, that was Will. He was happy about being able to slide his little butt off (literally) for four nights in a row. When they were setting up the slide in my yard that day, I almost crapped in my pants. It was MASSIVE. It was two stories for sure with a rock climbing wall on the back to get to the top and then two slides on each side. You flew down it. The first time I did it, it took my breath away. And then I was like, let's do it again! :)

Here's the slide:

We had 125 people at my house --in the back yard. I am SO thankful for the beautiful weather that we had. It was 84 degrees, low humidity and no chance of rain. If it rained, I might of had to cancel the party. Everyone was contained to the back yard where we had tables set up for dining, the slide, a bounce house, our swingset, a ball pit and lots of toys. The only time folks were in my house was to come in for the food buffet to make a plate and then head on back outside. It worked out beautifully. We served Lancaster's pulled pork BBQ, baked beans, green beans, mac-n-cheese, hush puppies, vegie tray, fruit tray and a bunch of munchies. It was a huge spread that I forgot to take a picture of! Very very good. Mmmm mmmm.

Having a blast on the monster slide!
And then these guys showed up after dinner....

Gorilla (Ricky T), Green Man (Johnny) and Banana (Keith). Out of all of them, the green man scared the kids. One kid had to leave the party. Poor thing. All in all, most of the kids loved it! Will of course, knew it was Daddy the whole time. LOL I think he's used to us dressing up so much!
Each Mommy made a batch of cupcakes for the party. Our theme was blue and purple. Blue being Will AND Kruz's favorite color and purple being Micaylas favorite color. I made the picture toppers for all the cupcakes. I think they turned out cute!

And we couldn't have done it all without the BIG HELP from Papa Dan and Grandma Con Bon! Thank you both for all your hard work with the party! We loved having you at our house for 13 days. We had so much fun and can't wait to see ya in November. XO

Thank you to everyone who made our party a smashing success. "Will the Thrill" was so cute opening his presents this year. He very much enjoyed this birthday the best so far. We let him pick presents from the pile as he wished to open. He was picking out presents with his favorite wrapping paper. Of course, he picked the first one with cars all over it. He was cheating by looking in some gift bags and then would take a present back to the pile. I said, "What are you doing?" He says, "It's a book. I don't want a book. I want toys." WHAT?! LOL. Yup, he's so three.

And this is how the night ended. So perfect. :)
