We had the lucky opportunity to travel with friends back to Baldhead Island at the end of June. Not only was this Will's first beach ocean trip, it also marked Rick and my 15th anniversary. Wow! Where does the time go??! :)
Will had a BLAST at the beach. At first, he couldn't understand how powerful the waves coming into the shore were. He would barrel out there and then get pummelled to the ground, waves over his head. We had to be there with him each and every time he'd try to make his way out in the waves. We'd hold his hand to stop him from crashing down. He loved it.
We were able to reconnect with our long time friends, the Malta Family. Their daughter Brie and son Luke had so much fun playing with Will either at the beach or back at the house. We stayed from Thursday to Sunday with the Malta Family in their home. It worked out awesome.
Baldhead Island is an island out in the ocean off of North Carolina that you take a 20 minute ferry boat to and it's 14 miles of pristine beaches. The location of the ferry is about 4 hours from our home. Transportation is limited to golf carts, bikes, or your own two feet… resulting in a more relaxed, easy-going pace. We loved it and can't wait to go back again! :)
