Our tradition is to pick out a Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. Eventually when Will is a little bit older, we will venture to the mountains and chop one down. However, this year, Rick was on call so we went down to the corner and bought a fresh cut douglas fir. We bought from the same guys last year and the tree was one of the freshest I had bought so we gave them another swing at it. So far, so good! With a two year old running around, you aren't able to decorate as quick as in years past. We are having fun though. Will is totally into the spirit. We are changing the advent calendar each morning and he's having fun with that. I'm using it as a teaching experience because we get to practice larger numbers! Like today is 18. Eighteen days until Christmas, can you believe it?
Yesterday at school, they asked all the two years olds, "What would you like from Santa?" Will's answer is "Toys." I asked him that same question a few times since then and he keeps answering, "Toys." So funny.
Tonight, we had a Christmas program at school. Will's class sang two songs and wore flashing rudolph noses and/or reinder antlers. Will did an amazing job, singing a word here and there and clapping. Some of the kids were crying and scared. Not Will. He loved the limelight. I wonder where he gets that from?
