Happy July 4th, 2011!!

We spent the holiday with family and friends. My Mom flew back with me from MN to Charlotte for a quick week trip. We were so happy to have her with us! And not to mention, the extra help on the airplane. Let me tell you my new best friend, Rick's IPAD!! :) Lifesaver and definite occupier.
Here is where we went to the annual 4th of July BBQ at Gary & Lucy Phillips house. This year, the party was on Sat. July 2nd. Good times, good food, hot weather and fun! We didn't come out of the lake all day except to eat.

Then on Monday, July 4th, we had lake day out for ADULTS where we chillaxed and wake surfed all day (thank you for watching Will, Grandma Con Bon!). Then BBQ and fireworks at our house afterwards. We are sooo lucky that the fireworks for the city of Cornelius are blown off on the golf course directly across the street from our house. We never have to leave our yard and the show is phenomenal. It's right above your head that when the 35 minute show is over, your neck is sore. I keep saying that it would be better to lay on a blanket and watch, rather than a lawn chair. We were rained out this year for our BBQ so instead of 20 adults and 10 kids outside, we were all going crazy inside the house! Hilarious. Lots of loud music and dancing. Luckily the rain cleared up about an hour before the fireworks so we were good there.

Happy July 4th!!

Will was a little sketchy on the fireworks. We kept him up past his bedtime. He couldn't decide if he liked them in the beginning. He kept saying, "Home. Home!" and pointing to our house. But he couldn't peel his eyes away from them. Then, he was okay and started calling out all the colors that he was seeing in the sky, "Red. Yellow. Blue. Purple." Very cute. When it was over, Kruz cried because he wanted more. Micayla fell asleep in the middle of the fireworks. I have no idea how that happened because it was as loud as it could be. And Will says, "Fireworks. All done?" He was happy.
