Trunk or Treat --Oct 16, 2010

I didn't know what a Trunk or Treat was until this year. What you do is, decorate your car trunk and then the kids Trick or Treat via trunk all lined up in the parking lot. Alot of churches to this. And now Will's school is doing it next week. You can decorate your trunk whichever way you desire. I went into my attic and grabbed anything that I thought would look good from my Halloween boxes. Some of these things I totally forgot about because they haven't come out of the bins since college! So there is no rhyme or reason to my trunk decorating in these pictures. I was just throwing up things. I was very happy with the way it turned out. When I looked around at all the trunks, I said to myself, "Wow, I could win this thing!" But I didn't win. A graveyard theme won. I didn't get a chance to go check it out for a picture.

Will loved the trunk or treat. He was in awe when looking at all the kids in their costumes. I am a member of www.lknmommies.com and this was their 4th annual trunk or treat. They served up pizzas, soft drinks, water and dessert. The DJ was very good, he played great music and had all the kids interacting together. I would guess there was about 75 vehicles involved and about 300 people. I was told to estimate about 200 kids "trunk or treating" and that's about what had.

So after the decorating, they served food. Then it was off to costume contests and trunk contest announcement. They broke it down into each age group. Will's group was age 13 months to 23 months. There were about 15-20 kids in his group contest. The judges narrowed it down to top three (which we made --Yay Will!) and then it was by audience applause who won. We didn't win this year but I did snap a photo of the Harley Davidson biker kids who did win. He was really cute. Here are the shots from our first Trunk or Treat.

When Will saw the little girls hula-hooping, he was trying SO HARD to get this hoop to go around his waist like they did.

Love you Willy D!

Stand by for more Halloween pictures next weekend! Rick and I are going to an adult Halloween party on Saturday night (bet you can't wait to see our costumes....) and then we have a party for Will in the neighborhood on actual Halloween. My sister Jenna is coming down to help me with the babysitting. Can't wait!
