Kalamazoo is where we went to relax, hang on the lake and spend time with the family & friends. A few of our trip highlights included:
- A visit from Lisa (Val!) and Katie Callaghan. It was so great to see both of them. Yay.
- Pontooning and washing our hair in the lake like old times. Did you know that Rick bathed in this exact lake (Pine Lake) on our wedding day after his golf outing with the guys? Oh yah. We are lake people. LOL.
- A great visit from Christine (she's in the middle with white sunglasses) from Norway --our foreign exchange student 2008-2009. She went back to her country to finish her senior year after spending her junior year abroad in Michigan. This was her first trip back to the U.S. since leaving. It was also her first time to meet Will. We had great times together.
- Hanging with the siblings: Rick, Jody, Julie, Rachel, Branden & Jenna
- We had "Sibling Night Out" on Thursday. Grammy Debbie watched the two kiddos. Thanks Grammy!
- Visiting the church where we were married on June 28, 1997
- Julie giving Dad a haircut on the deck
Awwww. Our 13th wedding anniversary. Why not celebrate where it all started? On June 28th, Rick and I went out in downtown Kalamazoo for dinner/drinks at the Union. And then off to our ole West Michigan stompin' ground. Rick hit the old TKE house and we toured around and checked out all the development of the area. Wow --has alot changed since the early 90s! Thanks to Debbie/Julie/Jenna who watched Will for our special night out.
Rick at the old TKE house where he lived. It's now a hall. His old room is an elevator shaft! Crazy.
- And not to mention the special time cousins, Will and Annika were able to share together. They are six months apart and will be super close cousins all their life.
And last but not least, my favorite picture of Annika. It's funny to see everybody on the boat in the refelection of her sunglasses. Can you see me taking the picture? Love it!
Thank you everybody for an amazing trip to Michigan! We love you.
