Pirate Birthday Party -Sept 7, 2013

Will asked for a pirate birthday party this year. How fun! When looking for ideas on my favorite site, Pinterest, I was flooded with soooo many great ideas. We elected to have his party at Torrence Chapel Park this year. This is the first year that Will had his birthday AFTER Labor Day weekend so that worked out nice since we had our party on Saturday September 7th, three days after his real birthday. And since it wasn't Labor Day weekend, we had a GREAT turnout!

The weather was a sunny 85 degrees but our party was 11am to 1pm so it wasn't super hot then. After the party, we hit Lake Norman and whooped it up at Nana Lucy & Papa Gary's beach. :) Good times all day.

For this birthday, we played in the beginning on the climber, swings, slides etc. I made a Walk The Plank out of one of our scrap pieces of wood and set on top of two crates. Then we ate hot dogs, beans and all the fixins to go with it. We had plenty of pirate food like Pirate Booty, Cannon Balls (malted milk balls), Salty Bones (pretzels), Fish-n-Chips (potato chips & goldfish mix), Chips Ahoy etc. I even made the pirate cupcakes :)

Then it was group picture time!

SILLY FACE!
Will had so much fun blowing out candles and eating pirate cupcakes.

Then we played a few games. The race was a big hit! We separated big kids into one heat and younger kids into another. In Will's group, he came in 3rd. John Balcerzak 1st, Kruz 2nd.

Lastly, it was Pirate PiƱata time. The kids all had a blast.

Thanks to Papa & Grandma for all their help in setting up/clean up for the party.

Happy Birthday to our lil Pirate Will!! We love you. XO
